Although a newly formed organization, ComMedi’s team compriases seasoned professionals with decades of experience in EU-funded projects, including Erasmus+ and Creative Europe initiatives. Our expertise spans non-formal and informal education, youth empowerment, creative arts, and mental health promotion. ComMedi implements local and international projects, collaborating with schools, NGOs, municipalities, and artists to deliver transformative workshops, cultural programs, and capacity-building activities.
Although ComMedi is a newly established organization, its team brings over 20 years of collective experience in planning and executing EU-funded projects.
Our members have worked in diverse capacities across public organizations (regional education directorates, municipalities, schools, and art groups) on programs addressing key areas such as:
1. Youth Empowerment and Active Citizenship: ComMedi designs and implements projects that inspire young people to take an active role in their communities. These projects often use creative methods such as comics, storytelling, and digital tools to enhance youth participation. By addressing critical social issues, including mental health and resilience, ComMedi empowers young people to become agents of change in their local and global communities.
2. Culture and Creative Arts: The organization leverages creative arts as a powerful medium for intercultural dialogue and advocacy. Recent initiatives include the production of graphic novels and holographic performances, which address social and environmental challenges. Through its partnership in the Creative Europe program, ComMedi has connected artists across Europe to foster collaboration and innovation in the arts.
3. Social Inclusion and Support for Marginalized Groups: ComMedi actively supports the integration and empowerment of marginalized communities, including immigrants, Roma, NEETs, and LGBTQ+ individuals. The organization develops tailored educational materials and community programs to promote inclusion, equity, and access to opportunities for all.
4. Mental Health and Well-being: The organization integrates cognitive-behavioral coaching, drama therapy, and arts-based approaches into its programs to address mental health challenges. These methods are used to build resilience and foster emotional intelligence, particularly among vulnerable groups and educators working with such populations.
5. Non-Formal and Informal Education: ComMedi is recognized for its innovative educational methodologies, including experiential learning and outdoor education. The organization’s projects engage participants in transformative learning experiences that promote sustainability, social justice, and intercultural understanding.

The organization collaborates closely with the Climatology Department of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and has been an active partner in the EU-GREW project (https://eugrew.eepek.gr/). Info:
The Cultural Organisation of Crete (C.O.C.) was founded in 2001 to promote and produce cultural, educational and artistic projects and publications. The two major projects of the organization is the Chania Film Festival /CFF (WEBSITE) and its educational program CFF Edu. The CFF takes place annually at the end of October in Chania, Crete. Through its versatile screening program and a multitude of parallel educational and art events, very quickly it received national recognition as an institution with cultural significance, establishing international collaborations and hosting prominent guests from Greece and abroad. The CFF wishes to bring to the audience distinguished Greek and international films, but also aspires to provide the space for audience and creators to meet and have constructive dialogue, as well as to make a social impact by means of creative and interventional projects.
During its eleven-day duration (last week of October and first week of November every year), approximately 15.000 viewer (including school audience) attend free of charge the screenings and the parallel events, such as workshops, master classes, and exhibitions. The CFF is also active during the rest of the year until the next festival; it produces and presents a number of events throughout the year, special screenings, educational workshops, film productions etc.
Chania Film Festival (CFF) is an international film festival starting from Chania. An event that quickly became an institution with international collaborations, with invitations of creators, with many parallel events, with recognition and acceptance.
A film institution that aspires to host the best of the cinema, both from Greece and abroad. A creative, intrusive and above all restless institution. A meeting place for fiction, documentary, animation films. A celebration of the 7th art. cineLessons are the educational activity of Chania Film Festival (CFF).
They began in 2001 and constitute a multilevel intervention in the field of audiovisual education at the level of Crete.
A network of educational activities addressed to the educational community, giving the opportunity to students and teachers. Of course for the cine-Lessons and for the Chania Film Festival / Chania Film Festival (CFF) The 10-day annual celebration (last week of October and first week of November) is the beginning of a creative and intrusive year as we believe that festivals exist to intervene and meet with society throughout the year.
Both the educational action cineLessons and the Chania Film Festival (CFF) are the only regional action in the country with these characteristics.
A project which, with a focus on cinema, plans educationally and developmentally. A project that has as a guarantee its duration and quality, the dozens of institutions and creators it collaborates with.
Chania Film Festival (CFF) is designed and implemented by a team that lives and creates in Chania and loves cinema. A team that believes, designs and implements Cultural Activities with Development Orientation and Social Sensitivities.
